Series of Activities on the Reconstruction of the Postgraduate Service Management System: Employment and Career Planning

On June 14, 2024, the Department of Management Engineering hosted an online lecture titled "Series of Activities on the Reconstruction of the Postgraduate Service Management System: Employment and Career Planning," aimed at assisting postgraduate students in planning their future career paths. The event featured three distinguished experts as keynote speakers: Zhang Junfeng, General Manager; Kuang Huiyu, Chief Growth Officer; and Hao Yu, Manager at Ipsos (China) Consulting Co., Ltd. More than 200 postgraduate students attended and actively participated in the lecture. Gong Chengju, Deputy Director of the Department of Management Engineering and Postgraduate Counselor, chaired the session.

Gong Chengju opened the event by emphasizing the importance of career planning for postgraduate students’ personal development. She briefly introduced the backgrounds and topics of the three main speakers. Zhang Junfeng, who presented on "Life and Career Reflections," shared his valuable insights into both personal life and the workplace. Through compelling stories and case studies, he encouraged students to reflect deeply on their goals and aspirations, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and approach challenges with confidence.

Kuang Huiyu, whose presentation was titled "Career Planning Data CDPT," provided a thorough introduction to career planning theories and tools. She explained the Data CDPT framework, offering students a more structured and scientific approach to career development. Kuang also demonstrated how this tool could be used for career positioning and planning, helping students to gain clarity about their career paths.

Hao Yu, presenting on "Growing at the Right Time," shared her personal journey of growth and career development. She emphasized that growth is an ongoing process and encouraged students to maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning. Hao also shared practical career advice and strategies, drawn from her extensive professional experience, which inspired students to recognize the potential of personal and professional growth.

The lecture included an interactive session where the three keynote speakers answered students' questions on career planning, employment preparation, and other related topics. The speakers offered valuable guidance, providing students with actionable advice and insights. Many students expressed appreciation for the event, noting that it not only broadened their perspectives but also improved their career planning skills and boosted their confidence in job hunting.

This lecture was a key component of the "Series of Activities for the Reconstruction of the Postgraduate Service Management System" organized by the Department of Management Engineering.
