School of Economics and Management Holds Signing and Unveiling Ceremony for International Joint Laboratory on “Green Low-Carbon Intelligent Technology and Innovation Management” and Hosts Sino-Russian “Belt and Road” Sustainable Development Forum & Intern

On June 10, 2025, after thorough preparation, the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Engineering University (HEU) held the signing and unveiling ceremony for the International Joint Laboratory on “Green Low-Carbon Intelligent Technology and Innovation Management.” The laboratory was jointly established by the Green Technology Management and Technological Entrepreneurship Research Center of HEU’s “Xinghai” Academic Team, and three research centers from the Faculty of Economics at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU): the Research Center for Network Economics, the Center for Bioeconomy and Ecological Innovation, and the BRICS Economic Body Education Research Laboratory.

The ceremony gathered more than 40 participants, including DOU Zheng, Director of HEU’s International Office; LIU Tiansen, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management; LI Wanhong, Chinese Director of the Joint Laboratory; Alina and LIU Weiwei, Deputy Directors of the Joint Laboratory; foreign professors from MSU; and representatives of faculty and students. The event was hosted by GAO Luan, Assistant Dean.

In his address, DOU Zheng warmly welcomed the delegation from MSU’s Faculty of Economics and expressed sincere appreciation for their long-term support of HEU’s development. He highlighted the solid foundation of collaboration between the two universities in academic innovation and talent cultivation, noting that the joint laboratory marks a new stage of deeper cooperation. He expressed hope that the laboratory would serve as a platform for advancing high-level research, nurturing top international talent, and fostering youth development on both sides.

Vice Dean LIU Tiansen also extended a warm welcome to the visiting experts, emphasizing that the partnership between HEU and MSU represents a fusion of Eastern and Western academic excellence and an integration of innovative theory with practical experience. He noted that the establishment of the joint laboratory consolidates the cooperative framework developed over the past year and lays the groundwork for cultivating globally minded, innovative professionals in economics and management through joint research, academic exchanges, and dual-supervisor training programs.

Following the speeches, DOU Zheng, LIU Tiansen, LI Wanhong, and MSU professors Sheresheva Marina, Kapoguzov Evgenii, and Malikova Olga jointly unveiled the plaque for the International Joint Laboratory on “Green Low-Carbon Intelligent Technology and Innovation Management.”

Subsequently, LI Wanhong, Director of the Green Technology Management and Technological Entrepreneurship Research Center, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of HEU. Professors Sheresheva Marina (Research Center for Network Economics), Malikova Olga (Center for Bioeconomy and Ecological Innovation), and Kapoguzov Evgenii (BRICS Economic Body Education Research Laboratory) signed on behalf of MSU.

During the exchange seminar, representatives from both sides held in-depth discussions on research collaboration, joint talent cultivation, and the introduction of foreign experts, establishing a strong foundation for future cooperation.

On June 11, 2025, the Sino-Russian “Belt and Road” Sustainable Development Forum and International Academic Seminar on Green Technology Innovation took place at the School of Economics and Management, HEU. Nearly 40 participants attended, including the MSU expert delegation, scholars from the Heilongjiang Academy of Social Sciences and Harbin Normal University, as well as HEU faculty and students.
