On October 15, 2025, ShanghaiRanking, a leading higher education evaluation institution, officially released the ShanghaiRanking’s Best Subjects in China 2025. The Discipline of Management Science and Engineering at the School of Economics and Management, Harbin Engineering University (HEU), achieved a steady rise, ranking 31st nationwide and entering the top 14% of universities in China.

This notable progress fully demonstrates the school’s solid foundation and comprehensive strength in disciplinary development, scientific research, and talent cultivation. It represents both authoritative recognition of the school’s academic achievements and the continuous improvement of its overall disciplinary level.

Building on this momentum, the school will continue to optimize its disciplinary structure, strengthen faculty development, deepen the integration of industry, education, and research, and promote the high-quality development of its disciplines—contributing greater wisdom and strength to national strategies and regional economic and social development.

The data for ShanghaiRanking’s Best Subjects in China come entirely from third-party sources, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and international and domestic literature databases. The ranking evaluates disciplines based on five indicator categories—talent cultivation, platform projects, achievement awards, academic papers, and high-end talents—across 19 dimensions and more than 200 variables, providing a scientific and comprehensive assessment of each discipline’s development level.
