To continuously improve the quality of talent training in finance and strengthen the digital and intelligent transformation of the finance major, the opening ceremony for the Finance AI Experimental Class of the School of Economics and Management was held in Conference Room 312, Building 31. CHEN Heng, Dean of the School; YU Yunliang, Party Secretary of the School; YANG Ximiao, Deputy Party Secretary of the School; GAO Luan, Assistant to the Dean; AI Mingye, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School; backbone teachers of the School; counselor ZHANG Shengqiang for 2025 undergraduate students; and all students of the 2025 Finance AI Experimental Class attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by LIU Tiansen, Vice Dean of the School.

CHEN Heng welcomed all students and clarified the core training measures of the experimental class. The School will integrate high-quality internal and external resources and promote systematic teaching reform through four “100%” initiatives: first, 100% ideological and political education integration throughout training; second, 100% dual tutorial system combining university and enterprise mentors; third, 100% innovation and entrepreneurship training; and fourth, 100% participation in academic research.

AI Mingye explained the differences between the experimental class and the regular finance major, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary integration in the era of AI-driven finance. She pointed out that in the era when data has become the core resource of finance and algorithms are deeply involved in financial decision-making, fields such as bank risk control, quantitative investment, insurance actuarial science and intelligent investment advisory are inseparable from the support of big data and artificial intelligence technologies. Future financial talents need to have both solid financial professional foundation and AI technical capabilities, and “interdisciplinary integration” is the core training goal, which is also the fundamental reason for the School to establish the Finance AI Experimental Class.

Class Advisor XIA Xiaoning stated she will provide full support for students’ academic and personal development and encourage active communication and mutual support.

Student representative LIU Chang delivered a speech, stating that students will cherish practical opportunities, adopt a “learning by doing and iterating through practice” approach, and strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing to build an open and supportive learning environment.

YU Yunliang delivered a concluding speech, putting forward three expectations: First, lead growth with ideology, deeply grasp the national strategic needs, and integrate personal development into the national development. Second, inherit and carry forward the spirit of the PLA Military Engineering Institute, and translate “taking the needs of the motherland as the first need, national defense demand as the first mission, and people’s satisfaction as the first standard” into concrete actions. Third, support talent development with values, take the School’s core values as the guide, practice the concept of combining engineering and management, explore unknown areas of financial technology with innovative spirit, bravely carry out original scientific research and innovation and entrepreneurship practices, and grow into top-notch innovative talents.

The ceremony marked the full launch of the Finance AI Experimental Class and laid a solid foundation for cultivating interdisciplinary financial technology talents.
