Proceedings of International Academic Conference on "Modeling and Simulation of Social-Behavioral Phenomena in Creative Societies"

From September 21st to 23rd, 2022, the second International Academic Conference on "Modeling and Simulation of Social-Behavioral Phenomena" took place in Vilnius, Lithuania. This interdisciplinary conference brought together scholars and researchers from social sciences, humanities, operations research, computational intelligence, agent-based modeling, applied mathematics, economic physics, and various applied fields. The conference was organized by the European Experimental Economics Working Group, the European Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development Working Group, the Lithuanian Operations Research Society, and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania. The co-organizers included the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Engineering University, the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of Russia, Ghent University in Belgium, and Klaipėda University in Lithuania. This conference was a result of the High-end Foreign Experts Recruitment Program funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. The conference spanned three days, featuring six keynote lectures, nine parallel sessions, and over 50 participants from nine different countries.

Associate Professor WANG Zhinan from the School of Economics and Management was invited to deliver a keynote speech on "Modeling and Simulation of Belt and Road Initiatives within the Framework of Business Statistics Curriculum," in which she introduced the method of using statistical models to analyze social phenomena, a research collaborated with Associate Professor LI Yingmei and Associate Professor Alina. The presentation also discussed enriching statistical curriculum content through case studies of China's Belt and Road Initiative. Scholars at the conference engaged in lively discussions around the presentation content.


Associate Professor Alina, as a member of the conference's international program committee, gave a presentation on "Complexity Modeling of Sustainable Development Goals," discussing China's carbon neutrality goals and modeling growth potential systems.

Additionally, six students from the School of Economics and Management delivered excellent presentations at the conference:

YU Junrui presented on "The Reverse Technology Spillover Effect of China's Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions and the Global Value Chain Position of Manufacturing" (Supervisor: ZHANG Xiuhua).

HUANG Mingzhen discussed "Does Executive 'Failure Tolerance' Affect Total Factor Productivity of Enterprises? — A Discussion on the Moderating Effect of Board Structure" (Supervisor: XU Jianzhong).

DUAN Changxu presented "Highly Cited Paper Prediction Study Based on PCA-BPNN" (Supervisor: YU Tian).

Saqib Jawad researched "The Impact of the 'Belt and Road' Initiative on the Sustainable Development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor" (Supervisor: BI Kexin).

Danial Zahid Shafique explored "Carbon Dioxide Emission Efficiency and Growth Potential - A Case Study of Pakistan and China" (Supervisor: BI Kexin).

Maksim Vasiev investigated "How Conronavirus Pandemic(COVID-19) Influences Chinese Economy Sustainability" (Supervisor: BI Kexin).
