On August 26th, 2023, on the occasion of 70th anniversary celebration of Harbin Engineering University, the School of Economics and Management held 2023 Ship and Ocean Think Tank and Social Service Sub-Forum of the Maritime Power Strategy Science and Technology Innovation Forum.
The guest speakers attending this sub-forum included: representatives from the Innovation Research Institute of the Academy of Military Sciences of the People’s Liberation Army, CUI Ruijie, Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, Professor YIN Hang, Assistant to the President of Harbin Engineering University, Researcher XU Song, Executive Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Committee of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited 714 Institute, Professor WANG Zhaohua, Dean of the School of Management and Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor WANG Xiaohong from the School of Management at Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor WANG Qunwei, Dean of the College of Economics and Management at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor ZENG Qingcheng, Dean of the College of Maritime Economics and Management of Dalian Maritime University, and Professor WANG Nianxin, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology.
At the opening ceremony, Professor CHEN Heng, Dean of the School of Economic and Management at Harbin Engineering University, introduced the theme of the sub-forum, “Ship and Ocean Think Tank and Social Services”, to the attending experts and scholars.
The purpose of this sub-forum is to serve the national strategy of becoming a maritime power, strengthen the layout of foundational, cutting-edge, and strategic research in the marine field, promote academic research and knowledge sharing in the ship and ocean sectors, facilitate high-level self-reliance in marine science and technology, promote the integration of ship and ocean science and technology with social services, and continuously gather the tremendous strength of a maritime power. There will be seven keynote speeches during this sub-forum. The sub-forum will be hosted by Professor CHEN Heng, Dean of the School of Economic and Management at Harbin Engineering University, and Party Secretary SU Yi.
In this sub-forum, a total of seven keynote speeches were delivered. These included “Reflections on Building a World-Class Institution” by CUI Ruijie, the Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited; “Reflections on the Maritime Security Situation and the Construction of First-Class Think Tanks” by Researcher XU Song from 714 Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited; “Research on Problems and Countermeasures of the Security System in the Shipbuilding Industry Chain Supply Chain” by Professor YIN Hang, Assistant to the President of Harbin Engineering University; “Scenario Simulation and Realistic Path towards Coal Reduction and Carbon Neutrality” by Professor WANG Zhaohua, Dean of the School of Management and Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology; “Low-Carbonization and Equity Issues in the Development of Digital Economy” by Professor WANG Qunwei, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics; “R&D Investment, ESG Performance, and Market Value of Enterprises” by Professor WANG Xiaohong from the School of Management at Harbin Institute of Technology. After the speeches, Professor CHEN Heng, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, awarded commemorative certificates to the seven experts ang scholars who delivered the speeches.
2023 Ship and Ocean Think Tank and Social Service Sub-Forum of the Maritime Power Strategy Science and Technology Innovation Forum has successfully concluded. Through this sub-forum, experts and scholars deeply explored the close relationship between the maritime industry and social services, as well as the important role of the maritime industry in national strategy. They hope that through this sub-forum, they can make greater contributions to protecting the marine environment, improving ship safety, promoting innovation and development in the maritime industry, and social services.
