On November 23rd and 24th, the 2nd Forum on the First-Class Discipline of Business Administration in Northeast China Focused on "Empowering Business Administration through Digitalization for High-Quality Development," was held at Harbin Engineering University (HEU). The forum brought together over 150 experts and scholars to engage in in-depth discussions on the theme of "Digitalization-Driven High-Quality Development of Business Administration." It emphasized on sharing the latest research results on digital innovation and education reform, digital empowerment & talent cultivation, digital practice and teaching innovation, as well as jointly explores the high-quality development of digital innovation and business administration. A total of 10 keynote speeches, 4 sub forums, and enterprise visits were held during 2 days. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor CHEN Heng, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Engineering University.
Vice President ZHAO Yuxin attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. In his speech, Vice President ZHAO highlighted that in the 71 years since the university established, HEU has leveraged its unique strengths in fields such as shipbuilding, marine engineering, and nuclear energy to advance its business administration discipline. He expressed hope that hosting the forum would deepen collaboration with experts and scholars, accelerating the digital transformation of the business management discipline. This, he noted, would help position HEU’s economics and management programs among the best in the country and further contribute to national economic and social development.

On the morning of November 23rd, six specially invited guests delivered keynote speeches at the main forum of the conference. Professor Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Director of the Teaching Steering Committee for Business Administration Majors of the Ministry of Education, gave a keynote speech titled "The Development of the Business Administration Discipline in the Digital and Intelligent Era"; Professor YUAN Chun, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Innovation and Development at Central University of Finance and Economics and Deputy Director of the Teaching Steering Sub-committee for Accounting Majors of the Ministry of Education, gave a keynote speech titled " Topic Selection for High-level Socialist Market Economic System and the Financial and Economic Research"; Professor WANG Jingbin, Dean of the School of Management at Tianjin University of Technology and Member of the Teaching Steering Committee for Business Administration Majors of the Ministry of Education, gave a keynote speech titled "Management Schools in the Wave of Digital and Intelligent Technology: Strengthening the Advantages of Accreditation and Building International Influence"; Professor SU Jingqin, Dean of the Institute of Platform Governance at Dalian University of Technology, gave a keynote speech titled "Innovation in the Governance of Business Schools and the Construction of Disciplines Based on the Integration of Industry and Education in the New Era"; Professor JIA Jianfeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Business Administration at Northeastern University, gave a keynote speech titled "The Way of Effective Interaction between Leaders and Employees in Organizations: Theory, Practice and Future Directions"; Researcher LI Zuozhang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of "Modern Education Management", gave a keynote speech titled "The Construction of Intersubjectivity between Authors and Editors of High-level Journals under the Perspective of the Independent Knowledge System". The above keynote speech sessions were chaired by Professor MA Tao, Dean of the School of Business at Harbin Institute of Technology, and Associate Professor LIU Tiansen, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Engineering University respectively.
On the afternoon of November 23rd, a total of 4 parallel forums were held, namely the "Integration of Management and Engineering" Discipline Development Forum, the "Integration of Industry and Education" Talent Cultivation Model Forum, the Education and Teaching Forum, and the Forum on Commenting on Education and Teaching Research Papers. Relevant experts and scholars in the field of business administration participated in the discussions, put forward their own views around the development direction of the business administration discipline, shared the experiences and practices of different universities, achieved sharing and the blending of ideas, and deepened the cooperation and friendship among brother universities.

Professor YAO Xiaotao, Director of the Research Center for Modern Management and Organizational Innovation at the School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University, gave a keynote speech titled "Business Administration Professional Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Reflections on a Management++ Model"; Associate Professor LIU Tiansen, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Harbin Engineering University, gave a keynote speech titled " Cultivating a Fertile Ground for the Construction of the Business Administration Discipline with 'Good Academic Atmosphere - Transformation of Model - Strengthening of Digital and Intelligent Features'"; Mr. MIAO Yu, Deputy General Manager of Harbin Turbine Company Limited, gave a keynote speech titled " Promoting the Talent Cultivation Action for the Reform of State-owned Enterprises in Depth"; Professor LI Xueling, Deputy Dean of the School of Business and Management of Jilin University, gave a keynote speech titled "Practical Insights and Academic Reflections on the Digital and Intelligent Transformation of the Manufacturing Industry". The above keynote speech sessions were chaired by Professor ZHANG Qian, Deputy Dean of the School of Management of Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology, and Professor WANG Gangyi, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Northeast Agricultural University respectively.
After the keynote speeches, the flag handover ceremony was held. The next forum will be hosted by the School of Business and Management of Jilin University. Professor LI Xueling, Deputy Dean of the School of Business and Management of Jilin University, received the flag and delivered a speech.
