On the morning of November 29, the School held the 2024 Teaching Excellence Awards Selection alongside the school-level round of the 5th Heilongjiang Provincial University Teaching Innovation Competition. The event was chaired by Professor Fan Decheng, Head of the School’s Teaching Supervision Group, and featured a panel of nine teaching supervisors who evaluated submissions and provided on-site guidance for each course.

The competition followed the evaluation criteria and procedures established for the provincial-level Teaching Innovation Competition. Ten faculty members—LIU Tiansen, SUN Bing, PAN Wei, SUN Limei, YANG Zhonghai, LI Yingmei, PAN Xia, PENG Erxia, HUANG Chongzhen, and LI Sihan—each delivered a 10-minute presentation showcasing their innovative course designs. The judging panel assessed participants based on their submitted innovation reports, recorded classroom sessions, supporting materials, and live presentations. Constructive feedback was provided on curriculum innovation, integration of ideological and political education, and overall instructional delivery. To further support participants, Professor YANG Guibin—recipient of a second-place award in a previous provincial competition—was invited to provide one-on-one coaching.

The School places a strong emphasis on enhancing faculty teaching capabilities. Through competitive platforms, expert-led training, and targeted development programs, it actively encourages faculty engagement and promotes continuous improvement in teaching quality. Moving forward, the School will continue to support teaching competitions, implement the core mission of moral education, promote academic program development, and lay a solid foundation for advancing the overall quality of talent cultivation.
