School of Economics and Management Holds 2025 Spring Semester Work Conference

To fully implement the university’s directives for the spring semester and to strategically advance key priorities for 2025, the School of Economics and Management convened its spring semester work conference on the afternoon of February 26. Centered on the theme “Upholding Disciplinary Leadership, Deepening Reform, and Ensuring a Strong Start and Finish,” the meeting aimed to bring the 14th Five-Year Plan and the second phase of the “Double First-Class” initiative to a successful conclusion, while laying the groundwork for the 15th Five-Year Plan and the next phase of development. The meeting was chaired by Party Secretary YU Yunliang, with a work report delivered by Dean CHEN Heng. Attendees included members of the School’s leadership team, assistant deans, and all faculty and staff.

YU Yunliang conveyed the key messages of the university-wide spring conference, emphasizing that 2025 marks a pivotal year in concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan and initiating preparations for the 15th Five-Year Plan and the upcoming round of “Double First-Class” construction. He urged faculty and staff to thoroughly study and implement President Xi Jinping’s important remarks during his recent university visit, to reinforce the Party’s comprehensive leadership, and to prioritize discipline development. He emphasized the importance of striving for excellence, embracing reform, and assuming responsibility in overcoming challenges and achieving strategic objectives, thereby providing strong support for the School’s high-quality development.

Dean CHEN Heng presented the School’s priorities for 2025, guided by the principles of “Five Adherences and Five Emphases,” in alignment with the university’s overall goals. He highlighted four key areas of focus: Strengthening grassroots Party leadership and integrating Party building with academic and administrative functions to drive high-quality development; Advancing reform initiatives with a focus on disciplinary strengths, guided by discipline evaluation frameworks; Promoting distinctive collaborations in the marine, nuclear, and regional development sectors through deep, multi-faceted partnerships; Aligning strategic development with national priorities by fostering innovation rooted in practical experience, industry collaboration, and academic integrity.

Additional reports were delivered by Deputy Party Secretaries YANG Ximiao and HU Yuzhen, Vice Dean WANG Jun, and Assistant Dean GAO Luan, covering major initiatives in student affairs, research, faculty development, and teaching.
